Higher Ground Music Festival

Big-name artists in the Christian music industry will be coming to Winsted’s sixth annual Higher Ground festival this summer, set for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 13 and 14.

Friday night will feature Chris Tomlin, who holds the first five slots on the list of the top 25 worship songs. Tomlin has received six Dove awards, and was awarded “Male Vocalist of the Year” in both 2006 and 2007, at the Gospel Music Awards.

The weekend will continue with headliner Steven Curtis Chapman Saturday night. Chapman has won five Grammy awards and 56 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. He’s also received seven “Artist of the Year” Dove Awards.

In addition to the two featured musicians, Christian music fans will be treated to performances by BarlowGirl, Hawk Nelson, and Go Fish.

For extra benefits, concert-goers can purchase the artist circle ticket, new this year at Higher Ground.

The special ticket entitles fans to the weekend admission ticket, all-weekend access to the Higher Ground artist circle tent next to the main stage, special meet-and-greet sessions with Higher Ground artists and bands, preferred seating in front of Main Stage, exclusive private seminar, praise and worship gathering, hot catered dinner both Friday and Saturday night, and free fountain pop and water all weekend.

Artist circle tickets are limited. The cost is $125 until May 15, and $150 after, while supplies last.

Regular weekend tickets purchased between Jan 16 and May 15 will cost $51. From May 16 to Aug. 12 the cost is $56. Tickets purchased at the gate are $70.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.hgmusicfest.com., or by phone toll-free at 866-821-5151, or metro at (651) 631-5151 during business hours.
