City offers options for gatherings

Vollmer meeting room
The Vollmer Room is perfect for public and private meetings and for smaller private parties.

The Winsted City Hall community room and amphitheater are options to be considered for meetings, gatherings, concerts and other programs.

The community room, called the Vollmer Room after the city’s first mayor, Felton Vollmer, is available to the general public to rent on the lower level of the city hall.

The room has a fireplace and floor to ceiling windows with a view of the city center plaza and Winsted Lake. It will seat approximately 80 people comfortably.

For Winsted residents the room may be rented for $30 per hour or $150 per day; nonresidents for $70 per hour or $350 per day.

A refundable $75 fee for residents and $300 fee for nonresidents is required as a damage deposit at the time the community room is rented. Damages or theft relating to the facility and equipment within the room will be the responsibility of the renter and they will be liable for all replacement costs.

When available, the following groups may have access to the Vollmer Room without charge: The Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce, Winsted Summer Festival committee, Winsted Lake Watershed Association, Winsted Senior Dining, and the Winsted Public Library.

The Vollmer Room is available to the general public Fridays after 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays. No events can be scheduled prior to 8 a.m. and all events must be completed by 11 p.m.

It will not be available to rent on holidays recognized by the federal government. Also, it may not be used for private or religious ceremonies or for private profit making activities.

Individuals or organizations using the room are responsible for leaving the room in the same condition they found it.

Amphitheatre

Amphitheater available for summer concerts

Another option for concerts or other programs is the amphitheater. It is located on the northwest corner of Mill Reserve Park and may be reserved for concerts or other programs. Reservations can be made by calling city hall at (320) 485-2366.

The two plazas, one on the north end of the promenade behind the city hall and the one on the south end of the promenade, north of Mill Reserve Park, may be used by the public on a first come basis.
