City offers options for gatherings

Vollmer meeting room

The Vollmer Room is perfect for public and private meetings and for smaller private parties.

People searching for a nice place to host a meeting, concert, gathering, or other program can find what they need at Winsted City Hall.

The community room, named the Vollmer Room after the city’s first mayor, Felton Vollmer, is located on the lower level of city hall. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a spectacular view of Winsted Lake and the city center plaza, while a fireplace gives the room a cozy ambiance.

The Vollmer Room will comfortably seat 80 people, and is available for Winsted residents to rent for $30 per hour or $150 per day. Non-residents can rent the space for $70 per hour or $350 per day.

A refundable damage deposit of $75 for residents and $300 for non-residents is required. Any damage or theft relating to the facility or equipment in the room will be the responsibility of the renter, who will be liable for all replacement costs.

The Vollmer Room is available to the public Fridays after 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays. No events can be scheduled prior to 8 a.m., and all events must be completed by 11 p.m.

The space is not available to rent on federal holidays, and it can’t be used for private or religious ceremonies or for private profit-making activities.

Individuals or organizations using the Vollmer Room are responsible for leaving it in the same condition they found it.

Groups that can use the Vollmer Room without charge (when available) include: The Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce, Winsted Arts Council, the community club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Winsted Lake Watershed Association, the Winsted Lions Club, the public library, Winsted Senior Dining, the summer festival committee, the WHAT UP committee, and Winsted Township.
